The Program Administration and Development Committee (PA&D) is a standing committee in NWSA specifically designed to represent the interests and needs of administrators of women's studies programs and departments to the Governing Council of NWSA and to assist NWSA in meeting the needs of women's administrators and their departments and programs.

NWSA Data Collection Project

NWSA is partnering with the National Organization for Research (NORC) at the University of Chicago to collect data on the field of women’s studies nationally.

Women of Color Leadership

The WoCLP is designed to increase the number of women of color students and faculty within the field of women’s studies and, consequently, to have an impact on the levels of participation and power by women of color in the PA&D, NWSA, and in the field of women’s studies as a whole.

Description:
The Women's and Gender Studies Department (WGST) at the University of Missouri-Columbia seeks a scholar whose primary research and teaching interests focus on African American and gender topics. This is a tenure track position beginning in August 2009. Requirements include an advanced A.B.D. or PhD, evidence of ability to conduct a program of research on African American gender issues, and commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applicants should have research and teaching interests in one or more of the various intersections of race, ethnicity, region, culture, class, gender, age, sexuality, disabilities. The teaching load in the department is four courses per year. The department provides excellent research support, mentoring and offers an exciting intellectual environment.

Women and Gender Studies Program at Grand Valley State University seeks applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position for 2008-2009, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years.

Qualifications for the position include: A.B.D required, Ph.D. in Women’s Studies and/or Gender Studies, or any discipline with an emphasis on women and gender. Experience teaching women’s studies/gender studies desired.

Candidates should be prepared to offer Introduction to Gender Studies and Foundations of Feminism (feminist theory). Teaching load is 4 classes each semester.

The Women and Gender Studies Program at Grand Valley State University is an interdisciplinary program leading to a Minor—at present there are more than 70 Minors. We anticipate approval of a Major in fall semester 2008. Faculty teaching in the program represent the social sciences, humanities, and professional programs.

Lafayette College seeks an Associate Professor or Professor with significant teaching, research, and administrative experience in Women's and Gender Studies, to teach in and direct an expanding WGS program. We are particularly interested in those with scholarly expertise and accomplishment in one or more of the following: global gender studies/transnational feminisms, gender and science, gender and media studies, or the intersections of race, class, and gender/sexual orientation. The person must be willing to take a leadership role in designing and implementing a major in WGS (we currently have a minor). Teaching responsibilities, primarily in WGS, are expected to include one course per year in another program or department corresponding to the candidate's background and interests. The position will be available starting fall 2009. Located 70 miles from New York City and 60 miles from Philadelphia, Lafayette is a private undergraduate college with an enrollment of 2400.

This is a non-tenure track position. Full time teaching load is six courses per academic year.
