Women of Color Caucus Co-Chair Bio
Dr. Whitney Peoples is a feminist scholar and faculty developer in the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) at the University of Michigan, where she serves as an Assistant Director. At CRLT, Dr. Peoples’ work focuses on anti-racist and critical race pedagogies and other issues of equity and inclusion in higher education teaching and learning. Beyond CRLT, she has over fifteen years experience in feminist and critical race research, activism, and teaching, and holds a Ph.D. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Emory University. Her research and writing primarily concerns the intersections of race, gender, health, and popular culture. She is a co-editor of Radical Reproductive Justice: Foundations|Theory|Practice|Critique, available from Feminist Press. She has been a proud and active member of the National Women’s Studies Association for fifteen years and a member of the Governing Council since 2017.
